Moth foiler for lighter sailors
You’re less than 70 kg and want to sail Moths? Get started!
Why IKUAL xS ?
Average sports man weight is around 80 kg.
International Moth have been design to fit this group. Unfortunally, light sailors have no advantage!
This is why we found, until 2020, a very small numbers of female moth sailors!
The 'box' class rules allow to adapt key parameters in order to allow light sailors to be competitive.
Sail and foil size helps, but is it not enough!
IKUAL has worked on all important features aiming drag reduction and optimizing the righting moment.
We want to allow more people to sail moths: our design is cost effectif and our boats reliable!

Foils
Horizontals are monolithic full carbon parts, while our verticals have a foam core to reduce ecological impact and cost.
We propose 2 foils sizes for the horizontals (main and rear).
Pratically the 'big' main horizontal is a nice allrounder for sailor between 50 and 70 kg.
Upwind performance and foiling tacks seem to be better with this foil: It is important to get reach the first mark first!
IKUAL has been top 3 in the French Nationals the last three years... performing with the same foils from 8 to 25 knots!

Sails
IKUAL has been working on sail development from the start of the project. For us this is a key element to optimize performance and cost for the sailor!
We have developed a performing 'Compact rig' with a 4.5 m mast and a 7.4 m2 sail adapted for the lightest.
Standard riggings fit the IKUAL. We advise following sizes:
- 7.4 m2 : 50 kg athlete
- 7.7 m2 : 60 kg
- 8.0 m2: 70 kg
